CCleaner removed the file association for *.*, how do I get it back? Even if you don't know how to do that, its not a must have. Nothing seems to uninstall it.

They're cluttering up the folder they're in! The cleaner keeps detecting a certain key, and its not removed when I fix the issue. It is very easy to mess up the registry, and unfortunately if you don't have a backup, exceedingly difficult to fix. Registry First Aid I paid the $100 for it and it never did me a bit of good.
I got a screenshot of the help topic in Windows 7 about registry cleaners. This isnt to say your registry is in perfect condition, but unless your an advanced user its best not to pursue it any further than CCleaner. Went to add/remove and it says "Uniblue is still running (which it is NOT that I can see). "Please close Uniblue and then uninstall." Something is wrong here. You can remove (uninstall) it there. SS drives are fast .. i clean the registry with it after i uninstall a program, game or graphics driver.
Information here is so much better than Cnet. chkdsk will usually repair corrupt files if the sectors aren't completely hosed .(it's a temporary fix at best ) In any event it's time for a new drive at this point. If a registry cleaner tried to be too aggressive so it could clean up as many "errors" as possible, it could easily remove errors that were necessary for an installed program, I never feel like I am getting the truth there. As long as you take basic care of your Windows computer, you don't have to worry about your registry. Your option to do what you want, but why discuss CCleaner's registry cleaner then give recommendations for others, in particular competitors.
