I open Flash.exe, go to file header and change the characteristics. When I export, it jump to 1.5Gb, stays there for a bit and then crashes.A log is also generated. Flash still goes up to 1.5Gb RAM usage when exporting but continues with the exporting and plays the swf afterwards.I'm still open to suggestons on how to fix this properly. Also if you're working on a Mac then I found THIS useful page which explains memory issues regarding Flash. Any thoughts? I've already deleted all unused bitmaps, movie clips, etc.

The first couple of times it gave me and "out of memory" error in the Java subsystem or something and to change the value of memory in the jvm.ini. I managed to get the file down to 70MB and I went and amped up my virtual memory so for now everything seems to be running smoothly, I can continue working now i can flash 1.2.3H into my Magic, i want flash 1.5.2, help please. There was not enough memory available" and other messages to a similar degree.

Once copied and pasted then copy the next given range of frames and so on. The only reason I see is that this may cause problems in x86 systems because Flash may try to use more RAM than the system can handle (the 3.5Gb limit).

and honestly, I don't really know how or why, but the .fla has ended up at 100MB in size. Would you have any advice? is it in one file???? It is a pain to do it that way, but Adobe has not yet bothered to automate this.

After that, the swf of the fla that I had saved on my desktop dissapeared. Another thing you can (and should) do is save a new copy of your FLA, and do FIle>Save and Compact. Except now I get it in like 10 seconds instead of an hour, so I guess that's an improvement.God dammit. It sucks to spend so much time on something and then when you're so close to the finish line it all just blows up in your face.
